With increasing data complexity, the need for more complex pipelines rise and along with this, the number of needed tools swell as well. Thus, one must look how use the available tools / languages to create synergies.

In this talk, I will use SoS (Script of Scripts) Notebooks with custom language modules (Python, R, Java, Julia) to showcase such synergies (eg. plot data from R in Julia), and how to use the polyglot notebooks to get the best out of multiple languages.

The talk will cover the basics of the SoS polyglot kernel, and in the second part will showcase the added features of the custom language modules.
